Felt monster

I am now into a new craze of stitching felt. I like it that they are so colourful and I am spoilt with choices. The tricky part is to cut 2 shapes of the same size and get them to hold still while I stitch them together. The next time I am into a new projtect, I will try to get some snapshot of the making. I initially wanted to make a bigger project, otherwise no oomph when hugging a soft toy but the idea of stitching can be tiresome and I didn't want to do something half way. So I thought it will be good to start something small and cute.

I get the ideas from cartoons and I enjoy customizing them. I wanted to make something that doesn't sit at a corner and collect dust so I thought I make something useful. I travel quite a fair bit on the road and I have always wanted a neck rest (without having to pay for one). I didn't know how to gauge the size so I just borrowed one and trace it, rough estimate and somewhat there. It was just a plain looking neck rest and i decided to add a heart shape, and then some spikes and then eyes. Then it just look like a sea monster and sea monster it is.

I made another baby pillow with the scraps left from the neck rest project. Useful to distract kids when travelling too.

Felt soft toys - easy to make and they are so ideal as gifts for kids and loved ones. Start one today and it's addictive!
